Bengaluru: While the news of the murder of a trainee of the Government Medical Collegeand Hospital in Kolkata was hot, a graduate student from a foreign state was raped in the capital Bangalore.
The incident took place in the area of HSR LayOut Police Station in Bangalore last night. A young woman who was coming from a weekend party with her friends at a pub in Koramangala was taken on a bike to drop her off and raped.
The victim student was practicing as a final year graduate student in a private college. The student became seriously ill and was admitted to the hospital. He is being treated in the ICU unitof the hospital and heavy police presence has been established around the hospital.
Addl.Commissioner of Police Raman Gupta explained about the incident in a press conference today. Last night between 1 and 1.30 am, the young woman was traveling on a bike and took her to another place and committed a diabolical act. We have registered a case of rape and started further investigation.
A foreign student was doing her final year graduation in Bangalore and was returning after partying at a pub in Koramangala with her friends. After the party, the student who came on a two-wheeler then got on another bike and it is suspected that he raped her. We visited the place and spoke to the girl’s family. We have formed 5 teams and are investigating. He said that he is confident that the accused will be arrested very soon.
