305.420g of Two Gold Bars and a Gold Melting Machine Seized; Valued at 30 Lakh
The complainant, a resident of Nagarathpet within the jurisdiction of the Halasuru Gate Police Station and the owner of a gold jewelry manufacturing shop, filed a complaint at the Halasuru Gate Police Station on August 1, 2025. In the complaint, the complainant stated that they had been introduced to a wholesale gold dealer about three months prior. On July 14, 2025, this individual convinced the complainant that if they were given 21-karat (916 gold) jewelry, they would return pure 24-karat (999 gold) gold bars of the same weight. Trusting him, the complainant gave him 1.537 kg of 21-karat (916 gold) jewelry. At the time, the individual took the jewelry, claiming he would verify it and return it in five minutes, but he did not return and cheated the complainant. A case was registered at the Halasuru Gate Police Station regarding this matter.
The police continued the investigation from various angles, gathered credible information from informants, and on the afternoon of August 26, 2025, apprehended the accused near a house on 10th Cross, Kalyana Nagar, Dasarahalli. Upon questioning, the accused confessed to fraudulently taking the gold jewelry. He also admitted to melting the gold jewelry received from the complainant using a gold melting machine he owned and converting it into a bar. He stated that he kept a 100g gold bar at his shop and had used the remaining 205.420g of gold to repay a previous loan he had taken from another jewelry shop owner.
On August 27, 2025, the accused was produced before the Honorable Court and was taken into police custody for 11 days.

Continuing the investigation, as per the accused’s information, on September 2, 2025, a 100g gold bar and the gold melting machine were seized from his jewelry shop. Additionally, a 205.420g gold bar was seized from the other jewelry shop where he had repaid the gold loan. In total, two gold bars weighing 305.420g and one gold melting machine were seized. Their total value is estimated to be 30,00,000 (thirty lakh rupees).
On September 6, 2025, the accused was produced before the Honorable Court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
