Ramanagara: In the Malagalu village of Kanakapur taluk, a seven-member armed group of Okkaliga community carried out a deadly attack on a Dalit family. In the incident, Dalit youth Anish Kumar’s left hand was reportedly amputated.
On July 21, Anish was walking along the main road with his uncle when one of the accused spoke to his companions about Anish’s caste. This led to an argument between Anish and the group.
Bengaluru Mirror reported that after forming a group, the accused barged into Anish’s house and castigated and insulted the family members and attacked them with weapons.
Currently, Anish is undergoing treatment at St. John’s Hospital, Bangalore, while other injured family members are undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The police registered an FIR and arrested four people, while three are absconding.
